No. The family app is free, runs in any modern browser, and children don’t need accounts. A parent just opens your invite link and agrees to share.
You can still manage their lessons, assignments, notes, performances and reports in your studio. Families can also log practice by hand, and it’s shown as “logged by hand” so you know.
The app listens through the device’s microphone and uses a small sound-recognition model that runs on the device itself. The timer counts music, not talking or silence. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere – only the minutes and scores.
You decide. Tuning, focus and rhythm scores can be shown as numbers, as gentle trends, or turned off – for your whole studio or just one student. Parents can also turn tuning off for their child.
